SCC will once again be partnering with WAIM to help ensure our neighbors stay safely housed and warm this winter. Registration is $25 per individual, but if that is a hardship for anyone, we are also inviting our congregation to make donations. You can donate to the SCC team using the website Give button above.

“Winter is coming, rental and energy prices are skyrocketing. Many in our community will continue to struggle to stayed housed and manage their heating costs.

This year, the 30th ANNUAL WALK FOR WARMTH, will be fundraising for both WAIM’s Energy AND Rental Assistance Funds. You can help make a difference as members of WAIM’s faith communities to help us reach our goal of $40,000. These funds will help ensure that our neighbors are not left out in the cold.

Please join us for our 2-mile Walk, starting at St. Mary Church in Willimantic on Sunday, November 20th. The Walk will be preceded by our Interfaith Thanksgiving service at 1:30 pm at St. Mary Church. The Walk will follow at 2:15 pm. Another option is to walk at your own time and place as a ‘virtual’ walker while still raising pledges for you walk! Please don’t forget to ask your friends, family, and neighbors to support you and this wonderful community effort. Happy trails!!”
